    2008 New Year's eve ~ 2009 New year

Stella got fever on the 28th of Dec 2009...
we thought it was another flu she caught from the unstable weather...
but... the fever last 3 days... and she got worse...
not eating not drinking on the 30th....
that afternoon, i arranged to see the Doc at the hospital...
took her to the hospital in a rush.. kidnapped my mom in law to go with us...
by the time we got to the ER, Stella's temperature got to 40.3 degree C
SHOCKED.... doc said its better for her to stay in the hospital...
let them take care of her...
Doc checked her up, and explained it should be some virus infection...
so Stella took some blood tests... and "wired up" with a huge bottle of saline solution on her tiny hand...
she was crying so bad... screaming mummy and grandma....and she wants to go home...
it was so terrible... like ripping my heart away...
but i couldn't cry... coz my daughter needs me more...
then we been sent up to the room...
such an active baby being tide up can't move freely was such a painful thing for her...
crying "mummy i wanna to go home..." still....
until her dad and grand dad came...
she tole grandad..." injection... hurts..."dah jeng tong tong..."!
just tored anohter part of my heart again...
however... glad the medical team has controlled her illness....
and stopped her fever gone up.. actually went down when she started her injections...
and she kept in the hospital for 3 days to make sure all her fever is completely gone...
and she is close too 100% cured... then we're released on the 2nd of Jan 2009...
i can only say... taking Stella to ER at 2 am was nothing....
staying in the hospital with her for 4 days 3 nights... was the worst new year i had...
now have to be more careful about her health... her hygene (was very cautious b4 already...)
and i learned how to collect urine from little ones....
we wasted nearly 6 bags... to get just 5cc... it wasn't easy at all.....for everything...
raising a kid is so hard.....

i am glad for Charlottle's recovering , and pray for all kids around us be healthy always...
good job mummy Michelle, give you a good pat pat on the back : )

My charlotte had her worst fever right before last Chinese New Year, no flu, no caughing, she only had her fever up to 42 degree for over 1 week, we seek advice from 3 doctors and no one is able to tell what went wrong
At last a doctor admitted us to the hospital , she took the blood test, urine test, ultra sound to her heart and lung, then finally determined it was the KAWASAKI disease. This virus was found in the 60's and no cause has been identified yet, only 3% out of 1 thousand kid would have affected.

Charlotte stayed in the hospital throught out the CNY period, cring every night, could not sleep as the nurse keep measuring her temperature every hour, and so was I , I did not slept at night the whole month, just to monitor her temperature, and Charlotte was on medication for 4 months

Lucky that is she is recovering well now, even tho we have a strict hygiene rule at all time.

Pui 3, I completely understand how hard it's like to watch your baby crying in front of you but you cant do a thing to make her comfort, especially watching the 3rd party putting needles on their little arm to take blood samples....
